Early morning Sunday we received a phone call from Sandy Dunkle, a volunteer at the Canine Rescue of Central PA, asking us if we wanted to have some fun taking pictures at their weekly pack walk later that afternoon. Of course, we said yes!
Not knowing what to expect we grabbed our cameras and were on our way to Lower Allen Community Park. Upon arrival we were instantly welcomed by 8 beautiful dogs (all available for adoption by the way) and volunteers from the rescue. The day included snacks, treats and plenty of water as well as synchronized walking, small training sessions, play time, and even a trip to down to the river. We may have gotten a little muddy, but in the end it was all worth it.
Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are an all-volunteer group dedicated to providing assistance to dogs in helpless situations. The organization was formed in 2002 and has made tremendous progress in establishing another valuable resource for our furry friends. It is our mission to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide sanctuary, shelter, and new homes to as many dogs as we can.
Canine Rescue also focuses on creating strategic partnerships with other rescues and similar organizations in an attempt to share resources as well as expand public awareness of the overwhelming problem of homeless animals.
Not ready to adopt one of these amazing dogs just yet? No worries, you can still help the Canine Rescue of Central PA in other ways:
